Josiah Chater records in his diary: At half past seven exactly we met at the Coach and Horses in the Cury and had a good supper of sausages, hot potatoes, and bread and beer … we could not finish them all so I pocketed 2 sausages and 2 large pieces of bread for lunch tomorrow, Mr Blumson took 4, Hayes 3 and the rest some each….
