History of 40 Riverside
In 2017 Jess Applin talked about his father and his paternal grandparents who lived at 40 Riverside.
Edward Frank Applin had been born in 1882 in Trumpington where his father Thomas was an army pensioner who in 1891 was a widower living on Granham Road. He had married Ada Mary Rogers (b. 1888 Biggleswade) in Cambridge in 1907 and they set up home at 40 Riverside. Francis Thomas F Applin was born in 1913 and married Hilda Coe in 1940. Their first home, where Jess was born, was round the corner in Priory Road.
