Cambridge Independent Press 29.6.1906: CYCLING WITHOUT A LIGHT – At the Cambridge Division Petty Sessions, before Professor G D. Liveing (in the chair), Canon Pemberton, W. W. Clear, and J. Bester, Esqs, on Saturday morning Frederick Chapman, of Exmonth House, Walnut Tree Avenue, was summoned for riding without a light at Milton on the 17th June.—Defendant did not appear. P.C. Carlton said he saw the defendant and another man cycling in Milton. Defendant had no light on his bicycle, but the other man had. Witness called on the defendant to stop, but he tried to rush past. The front wheel of the bicycle ran into a gutter, and defendant was thrown off.— Defendant was fined 1s., and costs.
